The SALG is a FREE, valid and reliable course-evaluation tool that allows instructors to assess student learning in their classes. The SALG differs from other course-evaluation systems in that 1) it focuses exclusively on student learning (rather than on teacher behaviors), and 2) it is designed to be adapted to the specific learning objectives and pedagogy of the instructor. The SALG is also unique among course-evaluation tools in that it stimulates learning directly by requiring students to reflect metacognitively on what they have learned and what helped them learn it.
Anyone may use it! It was designed with the needs of college-level instructors in mind, but high school teachers and people involved in informal education have also found SALG useful.
